A reggae az emberek zenéje / "The music of people"

Július 25-én Ceglédfürdőn, a LB27 Reggae Camp-en lép fel Julian "JuJu Royal" Marley, Bob Marley legkisebb fia. A reggae fontosságáról, a koncertről és októberben megjelenő albumáról kérdeztük, melynek munkálatait épp a napokban fejezték be. Terjesszétek a szeretetet, és ne felejtsetek el lenézni a Reggae Camp-re!
Nem először jársz Magyarországon. Azt hiszem, a miénk nem kifejezetten egy “reggae ország”, neked viszont a véredben van a reggae. Mi a tapasztalatod, milyen és miben más olyan országban játszani, ahol - Magyarországhoz hasonlóan - nem szerves része a kultúrának a rasztafarizmus?
Számomra a reggae nem ismer kultúrális és nemzetközi határokat. Spirituális és mentális felszabadítás, mindegy, hol jársz a világban. Tudod, a reggae az emberek zenéje. Lehet, hogy nem megszokott számodra, de ha meghallod, tudod, érzed, hogy "ez a zene nekem is szól". Bárhol játszom a világon, nem érzem furcsán magam, mert tudom, a zene nekik szól. Az embereknek, akik befogadják.
A reggae üzenete napjainkban talán aktuálisabb és fontosabb, mint bármikor. Nekünk, magyaroknak is bőven kijár már egy nagy adag “peace, love és unity”. Mit gondolsz, te mit tehetsz, hogy a világ egy jobb hellyé váljon?
Amikor csak megteheted, szórd szét a szeretetet! Tudod, minden reggel, amikor felkelek, rácsodálkozom, hogy mennyire csodálatos az élet, mennyi élvezetet lehet találni benne. Mindent és mindenkit szeretettel szemlélek, mert a szeretet minden rosszat legyőz.
Mivel készülsz a július 25-i koncertedre a LB27 Reggae Camp-en?
Eljátsszunk majd néhány új számot az októberben megjelenő új albumról, aminek a címe "As I Am". Nem hiszem, hogy ezeket a dalokat bárki is hallotta volna korábban, úgyhogy már csak emiatt is különleges koncert lesz.
Mesélj egy kicsit az új albumról!
Nemrég lettünk készen az albummal, néhány számot - Straighter Roads, Are You The One? - már ismerhet a közönség. Az album címe ("As I Am") magáért beszél: mindent, amit érzek, beleteszem a zenémbe. Zeneileg sok újdonság lesz benne, roots muzsika egy kis csavarral, sok organikus hangszerrel.

This is not going to be your first time in Hungary. Hungary is not actually considered as a “reggae country”, as it’s simply not the part of our culture. What’s your experience as a reggae- musician in countries like ours? What is different - or is there anything different at all?
For me, personally reggae music is international. It liberates people, no matter where you are in the world. It is apart from every culture, because it is people's music. It might not be something you are familiar with, but when you hear it, it does something to your spirit, that makes you think and know that "this music is for me". It is spiritual and mental liberation, you know. I don't feel strange playing anywhere, because everywhere we go, I know music is for them. For the people.
Nowadays the message of reggae is maybe more important than ever. What do you think you can do to make the world a better place?
Just spread the message everyday! Wherever you can come and contact, just spread that love! I wake up in the morning, you know, with that joy of life, everyone and everything you see, you see with love, because love conquers all things.
Please tell us about the show you will give at LB27 Reggae Camp on the 25th of July!
This will be a very nice and special show with new songs that I don't think anybody has heard yet, from the new album called "As I Am" coming out in October.
What about this new album? Can you tell us something about it?
Yes! Well, we have just finished now, at the moment we have a few singles out like "Are You The One?" and "Straighter Roads". The title speaks for itself, whatever I feel I put it into music. You might hear a different kind of groove that maybe you haven't heard before. We used a lot of organic instruments in this album. Roots with a twist.
